Apply to OYU
Complete and submit the application form along with the required documents.
Application Deadlines:
- For bachelor's and master's programs: September 1, 2024
- For foundation courses: November 15, 2024
Required Documents:
- Application for Admission Form (click to download)
- Higher Secondary School Certificate (duly legalized or apostilled)
- Academic Transcripts (duly legalized or apostilled)
- Statement of Purpose (include the major you plan to study, your reasons for choosing that field, and how it will contribute to your future)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume (include personal information, educational background, skills, and interests)
- Certificates, Diplomas, and Other Relevant Documents (if available)
- Medical Examination Certificate (including a medical certificate and an AIDS test, issued by the health authorities of your country)
- Six Passport-Sized Photos (3x4 cm, taken within the last six months)
- Copy of Your Passport
IMPORTANT: All documents issued in a language other than Azerbaijani must be translated into Azerbaijani by an official translation service.
English Proficiency
If English is not your first language, or if your previous education was conducted in another language, you will need to demonstrate English proficiency.

Apply for a Visa
Foreign students traveling to Azerbaijan for studies (except those from visa-free countries) must obtain the relevant visa from the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in their country.
To start your studies at OYU, we recommend beginning the visa application process immediately. We will provide you with an admission letter and assistance in applying for your visa. For specific visa procedures and document requirements, please contact the Embassy of Azerbaijan in your country.
We advise applying for a study visa for a duration of three months. Additionally, international students must register with the State Migration Service within 15 days of entering Azerbaijan.
Apply for a Residence Permit
International students are required to obtain a temporary residence permit from the State Migration Service at least one month before their visa expires. Upon the completion of each academic year, the university will assist with the extension of the residence permit.
A temporary residence permit allows you to enter and exit Azerbaijan during the specified period without needing a visa.
