Ahmed Veliyev (November 29, 1946, Alput, Gazakh region, Azerbaijan) - rector of Odlar Yurdu University, deputy of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan III (2005-2010) and IV (2010-2015) convocations, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, awarded the order "Glory". He is a member of the American Society of Mathematicians and the New York Academy of Sciences, a full member of the Academy of Social and Educational Sciences. Awarded with the gold medal of the French Economic Assistance Association for achievements in the application of new educational technologies.
Valiyev Ahmed Abdulkarim oglu was born on November 29, 1946 in the village of Alput, Gazakh region. In 1964, after graduating from high school, he entered the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Azerbaijan State University. After graduating from the institute, he worked as a laboratory assistant, senior laboratory assistant, head of a laboratory, teacher, senior lecturer, associate professor at the Department of Mathematics of the Azerbaijan Institute of National Economy.
From 1990 to 1997 he worked as the director of the Baku Industrial Pedagogical College. In 1995, on the basis of the technical school, of which he was the director, the Odlar Yurdu University was created, which he headed.
Ahmed Veliyev is Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor. Member of the American Society of Mathematicians and the New York Academy of Sciences, full member of the Academy of Social and Educational Sciences. Ahmed Veliyev was awarded the gold medal of the French Association for the Promotion of the Economy for achievements in the application of new educational technologies. Author of more than fifty scientific articles, one scientific monograph, dozens of textbooks and manuals, a book in the genre of political journalism "Bəsirət ünvani". The book was published in Azerbaijani with Latin and Arabic graphics, and in 2003 in English. In addition, Ahmed Veliyev is the author of the book "Adının sahibi".
Ahmed Veliyev was elected as a deputy of the Milli Mejlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan of III and IV convocations. Member of the Standing Committee of the Milli Majlis on Science and Education. At the same time, he was a member of the inter-parliamentary friendship group between Azerbaijan, Germany, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Turkey, Northern Ireland, Georgia and the head of the South African friendship group.
Ahmed Veliyev has been the rector of Odlar Yurdu University since 1997.
Married, has two sons and one daughter.
The eldest son Samir Veliyev is the youngest Doctor of Law and Professor in the country.
Daughter Vafa Veliyeva is a doctor, Ph.D.
The youngest son Munir Veliyev is an economist, Doctor of Economic Sciences.
