The next meeting of the Academic Council was held at Odlar Yurdu University. The meeting was chaired by the university's rector, Professor Ahmad Valiyev. Before moving on to the agenda items, the rector greeted the participants and briefly informed them about recent developments in the university’s academic life and upcoming tasks.
The first discussion topic of the meeting concerned the organization of doctoral exams. The procedures for conducting the exams, evaluation criteria, and mechanisms for implementing academic processes were thoroughly discussed.
The next issue was related to determining the rating of teaching staff in order to stimulate their performance. The proposed criteria and methodological approaches were analyzed by the Council members, who noted that this process would positively impact the quality of education and academic motivation.
The preparation status for the exam session of the spring semester of the 2024/2025 academic year was then reviewed. Information was presented regarding the organization of the session, evaluation strategies, and measures to ensure objective assessment of student performance, along with suggestions.
In the “Various Issues” section, several current topics were discussed. Preparations for the II International Scientific Conference titled “Smart Environment and Green Technologies” (ICSEGT-2025), scheduled for May 29–30, 2025, were addressed. Detailed information was provided about the scientific significance of the conference, cooperation with partner institutions, and the progress of organizational tasks.
Issues regarding adherence to disciplinary rules within the university were discussed, and proposals were made to strengthen discipline in the academic environment and enhance responsibility in student-teacher relations.
The proposal to change the title of the dissertation topic of Ali Musa oghlu Oruczada, a full-time doctoral student of the “Biology and Ecology” department, in the specialty 2406.02 – Biochemistry, was reviewed. The new version – “Investigation of the antioxidant, antimicrobial, cytotoxic and apoptotic properties of some medicinally valuable plant extracts naturally growing in the territory of Azerbaijan” – was approved.
A proposal was made to include the textbook “Azerbaijan's Economy,” prepared by Professor E.Y. Mammadov, Associate Professor B.Kh. Feyzullayev, and A.S. Valiyev from the “Economics and Economic Relations” department, into the curriculum of relevant specialties. Also, a teaching manual on the subject “Written Translation” prepared by Associate Professor of the Languages Department, PhD in Philosophy A.N. Qurbanova, was presented.
During the discussions, the members of the Academic Council voiced scientific-pedagogical and methodological suggestions and comments on all issues, and relevant decisions were unanimously adopted.
The meeting was evaluated as another manifestation of the university’s consistent and systematic efforts aimed at the sustainable development of academic activity, the encouragement of scientific achievements, and the deepening of international scientific integration.
