The International Academy of Sciences of the Turkic World Studies (IASTWS) aims to research, preserve, and promote science, language, culture, history, and literature across the Turkic world and countries inhabited by Turkic-speaking peoples. Its founding member states include the Republic of Türkiye, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Today, the Academy has official representations in many countries, including the USA, France, Italy, the UK, Germany, Belgium, Romania, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Iran, Russia, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Ukraine, Iraq, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria, Moldova, Kosovo, North Macedonia, Greece, and China.
According to the decision dated June 16, 2025, the Rector of Odlar Yurdu University, Professor Ahmad Valiyev, was elected as an academic member of IASTWS and was honored with the prestigious Atatürk International Prize and the "Golden Star" Medal in recognition of his contributions to the advancement of science and education.
The Ataturk International Prize and the "Golden Star" Medal are among the most distinguished awards in the Turkic world in the fields of science, culture, history, and education. To date, the award has been presented to notable figures such as Arif Pashayev, Khoshbakht Yusifzadeh, and Eldar Guliyev from Azerbaijan; Süleyman Demirel, Bahaeddin Güney, İhsan Doğramacı, and Namik Kemal Zeybek from Türkiye; Rauf Denktaş from Northern Cyprus; Olzhas Suleimenov and Nursultan Nazarbayev from Kazakhstan; and Chingiz Aitmatov from Kyrgyzstan.
These honors have further strengthened Odlar Yurdu University's international standing in science and education and marked a new stage in its development under Professor Ahmad Valiyev’s leadership. His scholarly and organizational efforts have significantly contributed to the university’s growing international reputation.
