Event Dedicated to Victory Day Held at Odlar Yurdu University

A large-scale event dedicated to Victory Day was held at Odlar Yurdu University on November 8th. The event opened with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
The winners of the “In Search of Talent” competition, part of the event's program, performed the composition titled “That Village is Our Village,” inspiring the audience with a sense of patriotism. Additionally, a ceremony was held to award the winners of the competitions dedicated to Victory Day in 12 different categories. During the event, three winning teams from the intellectual competition, which showcased the knowledge and intellectual abilities of Odlar Yurdu University’s youth, were also honored.
The awards were presented by the rector of Odlar Yurdu University, Professor Ahmad Valiyev.
Following the award ceremony, Rector Professor Ahmad Valiyev delivered a speech emphasizing the great significance of November 8th, Victory Day, for the Azerbaijani people. He noted that the historic victory in the Patriotic War was a manifestation of the unity and patriotism of the Azerbaijani people, and that the wise leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, as well as the sacrifices of Azerbaijani soldiers and martyrs, played an irreplaceable role in this magnificent victory. The Rector also emphasized that under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, who has faithfully continued the political legacy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the spirit of patriotism and unity among the Azerbaijani people has been further strengthened, and that this victory is a result of that very spirit.
The event continued with the presentation of certificates to the students who participated as volunteers in the electoral campaign for the 2024 extraordinary elections of the National Assembly. The certificates were handed over by the Vice-Rector for the Organization of Education and New Teaching Technologies at Odlar Yurdu University, Associate Professor Gabil Qafarov.
The event also featured performances and dances on the topic of patriotism by students, which greatly uplifted the mood of the participants. The students captivated the audience with their artistic works expressing the significance of Victory Day, making the event even more memorable with their performances.
With the Victory Day event, Odlar Yurdu University strengthened the spirit of patriotism among young people and contributed to the eternal remembrance of Azerbaijan's historic victory. This event aimed to instill national unity and love for the country in the university’s students, ensuring that future generations contribute to the struggle for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity.
