A scientific conference dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of prominent scientist and academician Zarifa Aliyeva was held at Odlar Yurdu Universiteti.
The event was officially opened with the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The memory of Academician Zarifa Aliyeva was honored with a minute of silence. A video presentation highlighting her life and achievements was also shown.
During the conference, Head of the “Biology and Ecology” Department, Professor Ramazan Mammadova, spoke about Aliyeva’s significant contributions to Azerbaijani science and emphasized the importance of passing on her legacy to younger generations.
Student presentations followed:
Nermin Tanriverdiyeva (Group 848, Biology) presented on “Zarifa Aliyeva’s Contributions to Ophthalmology.”
Hasan Gurbanli (Group 846), Chair of the Student Union Committee, discussed her scientific and pedagogical activities and her role in training young specialists.
Aysun Ahmadova (Ecology, Group 211) spoke about her role in public life.
Farida Rahimova (Group 210) presented on “Zarifa Aliyeva and the Role of Women in Society.”
Gulbast Karimova (Group 850) delivered a presentation titled “The Story of a Lifetime.”
The artistic part of the event featured the song “Mother,” performed by university staff member Saftar Agayev.
Participants highlighted that Zarifa Aliyeva’s rich scientific legacy and strong moral values serve as an example for future generations.
