Today is the birthday of one of the greatest personalities in Azerbaijani history, the National Leader Heydar Aliyev

Today, we celebrate the birthday of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the independent Azerbaijani state, our National Leader, a great politician, and a prominent statesman. National Leader Heydar Aliyev has left an indelible mark not only on the history of Azerbaijan but also on the political history of the world, leading his people through difficult historical trials and guiding them to independence.

Under Heydar Aliyev's leadership, Azerbaijan gained independence and chose its modern development path, turning into a powerful state that has solidified its position on the world stage. He dedicated his life and work to the destiny of the Azerbaijani people, always prioritizing the interests of the state over personal interests and taking significant steps towards the establishment of an independent and powerful state.

The Great Leader overcame the difficult times in Azerbaijan and contributed to the development of the country in all areas. Thanks to his political wisdom and foresight, Azerbaijan strengthened its economy and became a country of global significance. Heydar Aliyev's wise policies ensured the country's comprehensive development and saved Azerbaijan from various crises. He also preserved Azerbaijan’s culture and historical heritage, leaving this legacy to future generations.

One of the Great Leader's greatest aspirations was the restoration of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and the liberation of our occupied lands. This dream was realized under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev with the Victory March that began on September 27, 2020. The Azerbaijani Army, under the command of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, liberated our lands from Armenian occupation, bringing great victory to our people. The liberation of Shusha became a symbol of the realization of Heydar Aliyev's words, "Without Shusha, there is no Karabakh, and without Karabakh, there is no Azerbaijan."

On behalf of Odlar Yurdu University, on this significant day, we honor the memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who left an indelible mark in the history of the Azerbaijani people, and reaffirm our commitment to work towards further development of our country along the path he paved. It is our primary duty to preserve and pass on his legacy, to uphold his wise policies and values to future generations.

How fortunate we are that we have Azerbaijan, and how fortunate we are that we have the worthy successor of Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev.
