Odlar Yurdu University and Odlar Yurdu College honor the Khojaly Genocide on February 26 with deep respect

As Odlar Yurdu University and Odlar Yurdu College, we commemorate February 26 - Khojaly Genocide Day with deep respect and reverence. This day is one of the most painful and tragic moments in the history of the Azerbaijani people. The genocide that took place in the city of Khojaly in February 1992 is one of the most horrific crimes committed against our people, which has been recorded in history.

February 26 is not only a remembrance of a tragedy but also a symbol of our people's struggle for freedom and independence. On that night, the Armenian armed forces and other supporting forces attacked Khojaly, resulting in the loss of 613 innocent lives, over 1,275 people being taken captive, and more than 1,500 people being injured. These events were not only a crime against the Azerbaijani people but also against all of humanity.

Although the Khojaly genocide physically and morally shook the Azerbaijani people, it never defeated their spirit of struggle and freedom. Each martyr who lost their life as a result of this tragedy became a symbol of Azerbaijan's fight for independence and territorial integrity. They did not merely sacrifice their lives but represented the freedom struggle of an entire nation.

As Odlar Yurdu University and Odlar Yurdu College, we continue to convey the importance of the Khojaly genocide to younger generations, to preserve the memory of our fellow countrymen who lost their lives during the tragedy, and to remain faithful to their struggle and patriotic spirit. Our goal is not to treat the Khojaly genocide merely as a historical event but to preserve it as a symbol of our people's unity and strength, as well as their struggle for independence and freedom.

Today, on February 26, Khojaly Genocide Day, we bow our heads in respect to the memory of the Khojaly martyrs and keep their heroic spirit alive. We are confident that the memory of this tragedy will contribute to the continuation of the Azerbaijani people's struggle for independence and freedom and its transmission to future generations.

May God have mercy on all Khojaly martyrs, and may their souls rest in peace! Their memory will live forever in the hearts of Odlar Yurdu University and Odlar Yurdu College.
