At Odlar Yurdu University, the quality assurance policy is based on the education policy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and national development strategies, aiming to organize education at a high level and enhance international competitiveness. This policy is in alignment with the “State Strategy for the Development of Education in the Republic of Azerbaijan” (2013), the Bologna process regulations, the “National Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning in the Republic of Azerbaijan,” “Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area,” and the normative-legal documents of the Ministry of Science and Education and the Agency for Quality Assurance in Education (AQAE).
The rector of Odlar Yurdu University, Professor Ahmad Valiyev, plays an exceptional role in the development of the university and the implementation of its quality assurance policy. Under his leadership, the university has taken significant steps to improve the quality of the education process and create an educational environment that meets international standards.
The main objective of Odlar Yurdu University’s quality assurance policy is to ensure the preparation of creative, nationally-minded, and highly qualified personnel who meet the demands of society and the modern labor market. This policy is implemented at the sub-bachelor, bachelor, master, and doctoral levels, in addition to organizing lifelong education.
The university’s quality assurance policy aims to strengthen interactions between functional units within the Strategic Development Plan (SDP), increase the effectiveness of scientific research, and ensure high-quality education. Since 2018, Odlar Yurdu University has been an active participant in the Erasmus+ project named EQAC, following the decision on the “Establishment and Development of Quality Assurance Centers in Azerbaijani Higher Education Institutions.”
The university is the only higher education institution in Azerbaijan that places a high priority on the quality of education by establishing a Quality Assurance Center and creating the position of Vice-Rector for Quality Assurance and International Relations. Professor Fakhraddin Mammadov, with extensive experience in this field, has been appointed to this role to oversee the implementation of the university’s policies in this area. The quality assurance policy of the university involves the development of innovative and standard-compliant educational programs, considering the experiences of developed countries, and the monitoring of their effectiveness and mobility according to relevant standards.
At Odlar Yurdu University, student-centered and practice-oriented teaching, assessment systems, and efforts to enhance student engagement and motivation are key priorities. This approach serves to develop self-assessment, independent, and critical thinking skills in students. According to the university's internal quality assurance policy, relevant standards and regulations have been developed covering all areas of education.
The enrichment of the educational environment with resources, modern information technologies, libraries, medical services, and other facilities is crucial. Aligning these resources with international standards is a fundamental component of Odlar Yurdu University’s internal quality assurance policy. The university’s student support system is also continually improved.
Enhancing the professionalism of the faculty, acquiring contemporary knowledge, skills, and competencies, and continuously improving teaching methodologies are integral parts of the university’s quality assurance policy. Accreditation processes are carried out periodically, and all programs, projects, and activities are evaluated within this framework.
The university’s activities and educational programs are presented to the public through open information systems. Managing this information and establishing transparent and accurate relationships with stakeholders is one of the main objectives of Odlar Yurdu University’s internal quality assurance policy.
In implementing its strategic development plan and quality assurance policy, Odlar Yurdu University regularly determines the quality of education and the alignment of its activities and services with global challenges through self-assessment and evaluation reports.
