OYU employees have been elected to the new composition of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population

Elections were held to determine the new composition of the 9-member Public Council under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population. A 9-member commission was created within the Ministry to organize the elections. The commission consists of 4 Ministry employees and 5 representatives of civil society organizations. After the announcement, the candidacies of 12 representatives of civil society organizations were approved.

A total of 89 representatives from non-governmental organizations and media organizations participated in the voting. The election process was conducted objectively and transparently. As a result, two employees of Odlar Yurdu University were successfully elected as members of the Public Council:

  • Elshad Mammadov, Head of the Department of Economics and Economic Relations at Odlar Yurdu University, Associate Professor - Deputy Chair of the “Ummann” Public Union for Children with Disabilities;

  • Aslan Azimzade, Head of the Career and Alumni Department at Odlar Yurdu University - Member of the "Assistance to the Development of Free Economy" Public Union.

These elections are an important achievement for Odlar Yurdu University. The representation of the University employees in the Public Council is an indicator of their activity in education and civil society and their contribution to society.

According to the law, the Public Council is formed for a two-year term, and a new composition is elected by civil society organizations every two years. The Council plays an important role in ensuring public oversight over the activities of state bodies, considering public opinion in decision-making, and increasing transparency in the social sector.

This success also contributes significantly to the increasing role of civil society in state governance and strengthening joint activities in the social sector."
