Comment from OYU senior lecturer on Azerbaijan-China economic partnership

Aslan Azimzade, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Economics and Economic Relations at Odlar Yurdu University and a member of the Chinese Economists Society, assessed Azerbaijan's growing role in international transport and economic cooperation in an interview with the media. According to the expert, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway has become strategically important in ensuring uninterrupted cargo transportation between China and Europe, replacing traditional corridors.

Aslan Azimzade stated that cooperation with China should not be limited to trade and logistics but should also be expanded in the field of scientific research. He emphasized that modern economic research conducted in China has demonstrated that the development of a national economy is possible without relying on the standard methodologies of international financial institutions.

The expert noted that the in-depth analysis of sectoral and structural proportions in the Chinese model, as well as strategic planning approaches based on intersectoral balance models, could be relevant for Azerbaijan.
