On the occasion of September 27 – Remembrance Day, a conference titled “A History that Changed the Fate of Azerbaijan” was organized at Odlar Yurdu University.
The event commenced with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the Patriotic War and for the territorial integrity of our country.
As part of the conference, a commemorative video dedicated to Remembrance Day was screened. Afterwards, the floor was given to Professor Samir Valiyev, Member of the Milli Majlis (Parliament) and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Odlar Yurdu University.
In his address, Professor Valiyev emphasized that September 27 marked a turning point in the history of Azerbaijan. He highlighted that the glorious Victory in the Patriotic War was made possible thanks to the wise leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, the worthy successor of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the unshakable unity of our people, and the heroism of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. He also stressed that the sacred memory of our martyrs will always be honored, and their heroism will serve as a supreme example in fostering patriotic spirit among the youth.
Professor Valiyev further noted that the victory in the Patriotic War was not limited to the liberation of occupied territories but also embodied the rebirth of national pride, unwavering will, and the indomitable spirit of our people. He underlined the strategic significance of this historic triumph for the future development of Azerbaijan and for strengthening peace and stability in the region.
During the conference, students also delivered speeches reflecting on the heroism of our martyrs, the historical significance of the Patriotic War, and the national unity embodied in the victory. Their remarks conveyed a deep sense of loyalty to the state, the flag, and national values, and expressed heartfelt reverence for the martyrs. They also emphasized the importance of preserving this legacy of heroism for future generations and reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding the state and national ideals.
The event concluded with a musical performance dedicated to Karabakh, leaving a profound emotional impression on all attendees.
