Event titled “Our Independence is Eternal” held at OYU

An event dedicated to the Restoration of Independence Day on October 18 was held at Odlar Yurdu University under the title “Our Independence is Eternal.”
The ceremony began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom and sovereignty of our country during the Second Karabakh War.
Afterwards, a short video dedicated to the Restoration of Independence Day was presented, highlighting the key milestones of Azerbaijan’s statehood history and its modern development.
In his speech, the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Odlar Yurdu University, Associate Professor Qabil Qafarov, emphasized the significance of the Restoration of Independence Day in the historical memory of the Azerbaijani people and in shaping national statehood traditions. He noted that today, thanks to the farsighted policy of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief, President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has become a strong, sovereign, and triumphant state with a confident voice on the international stage. He also underlined that safeguarding and strengthening independence is the highest civic duty of every Azerbaijani youth.
The event continued with a cultural program prepared by first-year students, featuring musical performances, sketches, and compositions. The patriotic-themed performances by young students were met with great interest and admiration by the audience.
As part of the program, the awarding ceremony of the “In Search of Talent” competition held among first-year students also took place. The winners were presented with diplomas.
At the end of the event, participants took a group photo.
The event once again demonstrated the commitment of Odlar Yurdu University’s community to national values, state independence, and the ideals of Azerbaijanism. Such initiatives reaffirm the University’s dedication to contributing to the development of independent Azerbaijan and to nurturing future generations in a spirit of patriotism.
