Odlar Yurdu University, in collaboration with Ferghana State University, hosted a large-scale event titled "A Journey into the Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan." The event aimed to strengthen the historical and cultural ties between the two brotherly nations.
The program commenced with a traditional flower-laying ceremony at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. It was followed by the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, after which a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the Patriotic War.
The opening speech was delivered by the rector of Odlar Yurdu University, Professor Ahmad Valiyev, who emphasized the familial ties between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. He warmly welcomed the participants and guests, noting the significance of the brotherly relations between the two countries. Following him, the rector of Ferghana State University, Professor Bahodirjon Shermukhammedov, and Uzbekistan's Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Bahrom Ashrafkhanov, addressed the audience.
Guests were shown videos showcasing the cultural, historical, and spiritual richness of Uzbekistan, along with footage of reciprocal visits between the presidents of the two nations.
During the official part of the event, a protocol on bilateral cooperation in education and science was signed between Odlar Yurdu University and Ferghana State University. Honorary titles and awards were also exchanged.
The artistic section featured cultural performances by students from both universities. Uzbek students presented traditional dances, while Azerbaijani students delivered speeches in both languages and performed a composition based on the works of Nizami Ganjavi and his Uzbek counterpart Alisher Navoi.
An exhibition of handicrafts by students and faculty of both universities was also displayed. The event concluded with a tour of Odlar Yurdu University’s facilities, led by Rector Ahmad Valiyev.
