“Mahmud Kashgari” International Conference Held at Odlar Yurdu University

Odlar Yurdu University, in collaboration with the Economic Development and Social Research Institute of the Republic of Turkey (İKSAD), the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), the Monitoring Center under the State Language Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the Mahmud Kashgari Fund of the Azerbaijan Writers' Union, organized the “Mahmud Kashgari” International Conference on Science, Culture, and Education. The conference was titled “Divanü Lügati’t-Türk - 950.”
This prestigious event was held at Odlar Yurdu University in both online and offline formats. The primary goal of the conference was to present Mahmud Kashgari’s rich scientific and literary heritage to a broader audience, emphasize the significance of his renowned work “Divanü Lügati’t-Türk” in the field of Turkology, and discuss contemporary scientific, cultural, and educational perspectives.
Renowned scholars, researchers, parliament members, and representatives of academic and educational institutions from both local and international platforms attended the conference. Among the participants at the opening ceremony were Member of Parliament, Professor Samir Valiyev; President of the Mahmud Kashgari International Fund, Member of Parliament, Professor Javanşir Feyziyev; Vice-Rector for Quality Assurance and International Relations at Odlar Yurdu University, Professor Fakhraddin Mammadov; Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs at Odlar Yurdu University, Professor Terlan Abdullayev; Vice-Rector for International Relations at ADPU, Professor Mahira Huseynova; Director of the Nasimi Institute of Linguistics, Professor Nadir Mammadli; and General Director of the Economic Development and Social Research Institute of Turkey, Mustafa Latif Emek, alongside numerous other local and foreign guests.
Throughout the event, Mahmud Kashgari and his invaluable legacy for the Turkic world were once again highlighted, and the “Divanü Lügati’t-Türk” was recognized as an indispensable source for the modern era.
