Today is the birthday of one of the greatest personalities in Azerbaijani history, the National Leader Heydar Aliyev

Today, we celebrate the birthday of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of independent Azerbaijan, our National Leader, great politician, and distinguished statesman. Heydar Aliyev is a historic figure who not only left an indelible mark in Azerbaijani history but also in world political history, leading his people through difficult historical trials and guiding them to independence.

Under Heydar Aliyev’s leadership, Azerbaijan gained independence and chose its modern development path. Today, Azerbaijan has become a strong state, strengthening its position on the world stage. He dedicated his life and work to the destiny of the Azerbaijani people, always putting the interests of the state above his personal interests and taking significant steps towards the creation of an independent and powerful state.

The National Leader, having left behind Azerbaijan’s most difficult times, developed the country in all areas. Through his political wisdom and foresight, he strengthened Azerbaijan’s economy and turned the country into a key player on the international stage. Heydar Aliyev’s wise policies ensured the comprehensive development of Azerbaijan and saved the country from every crisis. He also preserved Azerbaijan’s culture and historical heritage, passing this legacy on to future generations.

One of the National Leader's greatest desires was the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and the liberation of our occupied lands. In this regard, under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, significant measures are being taken to ensure the territorial integrity and security of Azerbaijan. Based on the wisdom of the National Leader, Azerbaijan’s military potential has been strengthened, and the country's security is comprehensively ensured.

On behalf of Odlar Yurdu University, on this significant day, we respectfully honor the memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, who left an indelible mark in the history of the Azerbaijani people. We reaffirm our commitment to work towards further development of our country, following his path. Preserving the wise policies and values of the National Leader and passing them on to future generations is our fundamental duty.

How fortunate we are to have Azerbaijan, and how fortunate we are to have the worthy successor of Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev.
