I heartily congratulate you on March 8 - International Women's Day, and wish each of you good health, happiness and success in your future endeavors.
Azerbaijani women have been the moral support of society in every period of our history. Women have incomparable services in preserving the rich national cultural resources of our people, which have been formed over the centuries, and in the transmission of high human qualities from generation to generation.
Heydar Aliyev, the national leader who laid the foundation of the state - women's policy in our country, treated women's personality with great respect, allocated a special place to women in all areas of the country's life, created ample opportunities for their comprehensive activities and development, and trained women leaders. The resolute continuation of this policy by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, has further increased the position and prestige of Azerbaijani women in society.
I once again honor the memory of our brave children who lost their lives during the defense of our lands and deliver them from occupation, and I send my good wishes to the martyred mothers and their wives, to the lifelong comrades of our soldiers who lost their health in the battles, and to the soldiers' mothers who raised worthy sons for the nation.
I am sure that the Azerbaijani woman, who fully understands her responsibility before the society, will continue to make great contributions to the progress of our independent republic.
